Full Construction

starting January 2026

ARCHIBUILD were commissioned to design a contemporary rear extension for a detached house in Alverstoke, Gosport.

The design centered on a linear, single-storey extension that, rather than spanning the width of the original house, projected into the garden along the eastern boundary. This approach created a private, West-facing terrace designed to capture the evening sun.

Beechcroft Rear Close Up New

We contacted ARCHIBUILD after seeing the Wrap House being built. From the concept design, through planning and the technical design we have been looked after so professionally. We are due to start building in January 2026 and can't wait!

We've done a project before and therefore had our reservations, but this experience has been completely different. ARCHIBUILD's process has meant we have realised to have a successful project you have to get all the information prepared properly beforehand, which has been the case - we start work after Christmas and cannot wait to start our our Grand Design!

CONCEPT DESIGN

The clients for the West House commissioned ARCHIBUILD to survey their home and provide the Concept Design package in 3D. Using the latest software packages the clients were able to walk through their proposed home and make comments and decisions on a computer screen before giving approval to move to the next stage.

PLANNING

Planning permission was granted in July 2025 with no objections from Gosport Borough Council. The Planning Case Officer commented: “This is another high-quality addition from ARCHIBUILD that I look forward to seeing complete.”

TECHNICAL

Following Planning approval ARCHIBUILD were commissioned to provide a detailed Technical package. These drawings are critical in providing the level of detail to fully cost the project whilst allowing for a detailed submission to Building Control for approval prior to construction.

INTIMATE OUTDOOR

“Sometimes its the default option to extent the full width of a property, but we proposed the opposite ensuring light filled interiors and an intimate outdoor seating area within the context of larger garden beyond”.
